THE DARK NIGHT AND YEARLY ROUND-UP

Don't worry people, I will get to I AM LEGEND.

I'm just taking a break from the winter blockbuster mediocrity, of late and looking forward to the future.

...Please, give me one good winter blockbuster. Here's hoping SWEENEY TODD doesn't disappoint.

For me, BATMAN BEGINS is the best comic-book flick ever made, period. Though, THE INCREDIBLES runs a close second. And you can just forget the rubber-man-CGI of SPIDERMAN. ...Close, yes, but no cigar. I left the screening of BATMAN BEGINS with my booty, thoroughly kicked.

So, on that note, I give you two gifts:

HEATH "I have a feeling this mofo' will earn some much-deserved critical accolades for this role" LEDGER as the Joker, in a six-and-a-half minute bootleg of the beginning of the flick.

Excuse the bad angles. All considered, the quality isn't as horrid, as it could have been:

Need I even say, this is the film I look forward to most, this year?

Fletch, over at Blogcabins is compiling an end of the year top five list based on the choices of his fellow movie bloggers. You can check the results of that, this week.

As for my top ten movies of the year? Here ya' go:

All of my picks are linked back to my original reviews, because I'm lazy and don't feel like writing up a new blurb here. I also want to emphasize that these are rated by how much I'd like to re-watch them right now, if I could.

It's all about what I loved this year, not what's "technically" better. For example, Million Dollar Baby was a great movie, but I'd never watch that sucker, ever again.

#10 STARDUST
#9 HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
#8 TALK TO ME
#7 GRINDHOUSE
#6 SUPERBAD
#5 KNOCKED UP
#4 ONCE
#3 (tie) KING OF KONG: A FISTFUL OF QUARTERS & RATATOUILLE
#2 NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN
#1 HOT FUZZ

Look for I AM LEGEND on Monday. Later, peoples!

i officially predict this movie is going to be lame, based solely on the dialog in the clip here. so weak and expository! they're actually going to do the job and they have to remind themselves how they're going to divide up the loot? that's just them explaining the movie's premise to the audience, yanno? but i'll be happy to be wrong. the last batman movie was great and ditto the 80s "dark night" comic.

and how's the joker gonna hire more henchmen after he's shot his old ones in the back? rather poor managerial style there.

Well, if you go to whysoserious.com There's a game where he is trying to hire more henchmen.

Also, if you look closely, you can see there are many schoolbuses, with probably lots of extra henchmen.

I hear you about the expository dialogue, though. That makes me a little apprehensive about the film.

But I wonder if it's the Joker hiring stupid dupable men, so they're easily disposable?

OK...Yeah that's a stretch. Anyway, I retain judgement until I see it.

As always, I appreciate all comments whether you agree or disagree.

Just don't be nasty, vague, or disrespectful.

Thanks. :)
