THUNDER, THUNDER--, THUNDERCATS, HOOOOOO!!!!!

I GUARANTEE this fan-made trailer is better than anything the studio system will come up with. I don't know whether I'm more impressed with the fan's skills (and time he/she had, damn!) or more apathetic about the inevitable crap-pile the actual trailer and movie will be.

I swear they have a list of every single piece of Gen-X nostalgia they eventually plan to cash in on. ...And oh yes, they WILL. NOT. STOP. until they get through them all.

We should listen to greasy, heaving, Ian Malcolm chest:

Amen, you sexy pre-xkcd, mathematician.

Yeah we got this on our site too. Pretty damn slick! But seriously, being a child of the 80's myself, I can't help but be a little jazzed at seeing some of my favorite toys remade into films. Silverhawks film? Down for it. Street Frogs CGI film? I'm in. M.A.S.K? Count me in. Get-A-Long Gang? Not so much.

NO.

I am NOT jazzed, nor down to see ANY of those.

You're one of the folks who thought the Transformers movie was amazing, aren't you?

Peter Cullen's voice blinded you the crap-pile that was the REST of the movie, huh?

LOL! Just because I'm jazzed to see these movies doesn't mean I'm blind to their quality. I HATED the Transformers movie, and immediately went home and watched Transformers: The Movie on DVD after sitting through that craptastic Michael Bay disaster. But does that mean there can't be an awesome M.A.S.K. film? Heck no. "MASK!! Always ridin' high on VENOM's trail!!!"

Yes.

That looks really cool. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work that went into making that. Someone had an awful lot of time on their hands.

As for an actual film, I am sure it would be pretty, bloody awful. Hollywood would kill it.

Seeing this has kind of put me in a nostalgic mood though. I may need to throw Thundercats onto my Netflix queue.

C'mon, DC Girl...there's gotta be just a little bit o irony there, no? While I think the trailer is FANDAMNTASTIC from a "wow - that took a ton of work and looks great" standpoint, how can you say with a straight face that the trailer "is better than anything the studio system will come up with" when the trailer is....

...wait for it...

...made with clips from a number of shittastic movies in their own right. Troy? Chronicles of Riddick? Garfield?

@fletch

Because I just did.

And...wait for it...

I'm talking about THE TRAILER, not the films.

The fan-trailer is well-made, IMO especially given what he had to work with.

With the exception of the O.G. Lion Witch and Wardrobe, Hollywood has not been making great heart-pounding blockbuster trailers, lately.

And they have A LOT more to work with. Generally work by committee tends to turn out shitty.
