Welcome to my first ever live-blog of the Golden Globe Awards. YEAH!!
I'm routing for Dexter, Slumdog, In Bruges, Wall-E, Mickey, Meryl, and Kate. Though, True Blood is delicious trash, the choice actor to nominate from that show should have been Nelsan Ellis, foreign press.
...AID's burger, for the win.

I'm disappointed by the overlooking of Pushing Daisies. Canceled after one season, and yet Heroes limps along. *sigh*
...And commences watching E!
6:03 PM
-Ryan Seacrest's hair looks better than usual.
-Ricky Gervais wife is funny too. Sure, you got the clothes from the laundry.

-Now THAT's a nice dress...but the earrings are ugly.
commercial...
6:22 PM
-Love Jenna Fischer (from The Office), but it looks like somebody puked up her dress.

-No...Don't make them dance.
...commercials.

6:39 PM
-Yes, Mr. Jay. I'm gagging too. I HATE PINK. And too. many. ruffles.

-Mmm, Aaron Eckhart.
-I'm sure they are tired of hearing that sadness over Heath question, over and over.
-Debra's ponytail looks like a weave ponytail I spotted on the DC streets, the other day.
-Simon Baker has such a caricaturish face.
-The Jonas Brothers are so bland. And that's probably a good thing for kids these days. We had Bobby Brown.
commercials...
Revolutionary Road: Nick Drake's music being used in a movie, yet again...How surprising!
6:55 PM
-Can't decide if I like Evan Rachel's dress. It fits well, but I think the tiers may be a bit much.

-Oh, the guy who made Kevin's tux is gonna be pissed.
-Aww, Susan's son got his daddy's height. :)
-Miley's face = ALL circles. Round eyes, round head, round nose....
-Amy Adams, nice dress. Now, THAT's how you do black. I do wish the hair were a bit more neatly coiffed, though.
-OH HAI! BILL!! :) ..."SUKEH! SUKEH!!"
-Oh, Drew.... The hair is AWFUL.
-Anna looks classy. And she came with Bill. *hee!*
-That color doesn't do anything for Christine and once again, the hair is messed up.

-Marissa Tomei looks like she's about to Tango with someone.
-Zac Efron... I would love for him to come out, WHILE he's still popular.
-Beyonce do the stage for awhile first, EARN your acting stripes.

-Is that...Megan Fox?? Wow. She looks very classy. And the self-deprecation is cool. :)

-The generic Latin music theme is also HILARIOUS
-Best Actor in a Drama Series - Come on Micheal C. Hall, barring that, Hugh Laurie.

commercials...
-Oh boy, Ricky's doing the charming awkward British thing, that so many comedic Brits do.
-Folks don't seem too excited to see the Jonases. Also, the cameraman finds the other tween star, Miley Cyrus, for a reaction shot.
-Best Animated Motion Picture - DEFINITELY Wall-e

I'm a big fan of clean, tailored looks without a lot of gaudy jewelry. It's best when you don't need to try too hard. ;)

Finally--found you!
I'm switching back and forth between E! and NBC. E! has better shots but I find Ryan Seacrest really annoying. Did you see Eva Mendes? I am in love with her necklace.
@Famin
Yes! But the hair...The HAIR. Ugh.
By Elizabeth, did you mean Elizabeth Banks? Because I loved her hair. Very old Hollywood glam. I liked Jessica Biel's hair too, but Drew Barrymore's and Debra Messing's are just, well, too messy for my taste.
I can't remember what Eva Mendez's hair looked like now. I think Maggie Gyllenhall's dress is an interesting risk, but what is up with those earrings??
@Famin
Yup, Banks. It just looked so sweet 50's housewife to me.
That's Maggie. *shrug*
And Eva's hair is a HOT MESS.
I think Hot Mess Hair is the Red Carpet look this season. Did you see Blake Lively's hair?
@Famin
Everyone should look to America. Her bouffant is PERFECT.
Marisa Tomei's hair looks nice. But I wish she wore a proper gown!
@Famin
I agree.
Salma Hayek looks classic and lovely though.
@Famin
Still haven't seen her, yet. :P
Why do all the brown people look SO dark against that background? You could barely even see Don Cheadle's face and he's not even all that dark!
@Famin
Oh, but his skin looked so rich semi-sweet chocolate, though. :)
@MsGo: Salma Hayek is sitting at one of the tables way up front. White gown, hair pulled back in a chignon.
@MsGo: re: Don Cheadle--I agree, but I'm having issues with the TV folks. Don't they know to adjust contrast for darker colored skin???? What's wrong with these people? Grrr. If they had someone with ebony-black skin on it would probably create a black hole on the HD screen. *pissy* Even the latinos are looking awfully swarthy. I want to see their REAL skin color.
@Famin
I saw her, but not the dress. :P
@MsGo, we all need to plan to go see Happy Go Lucky. @johnnynva is in too. (We're all Twittering.)
Re: Heath Ledger's win. It's possible he would've lingered in obscurity. Or maybe not. For all the award-show wins won by actors posthumously, I would say this is one that is truly well-deserved. Ledger did a great job in a really good movie and I would argue it was one of the best performances of his career.
@Famin
I agree, but it does annoy me that the same people who were bitching about him getting the Joker role in the first place are now, kissing his posthumous ass.
I have to agree. I'm going to add that I am positive his performance wouldn't have received AS much attention.
@bob
Yup.
@MsGo "HEY, IT'S INDIANS!! YOU GUYS!! INDIANS!! LOOK!!"
LOL!! First time we get to see them in all the wins!
I loved Ricky Gervais' line to Kate after she won for best supporting: "what did I tell you about Holocaust movies?"
As usual the Globes are far more interesting and accurate than the Oscars ever will be!
@Trav
Two words.
Pia Zadora.
Would love for you to review the new Biggie Smalls movie. What do you think of the trailer?
